I've had enough of this ice, carrying buckets of water to goats.One nannie blessed me with twins sunday.My son John(Bud) was driving home from work mon.Is a Paramedic in Bamburg,(hour&half away)when he hit black ice. His Blazer went down an embankment.Hit trees. He's fine, car is total.It belong to Ashley & has alot of sentimental memories.After he was pulled out,he was able to drive it home by holding the driver door close.I have no hot water in my bathroom.So moved my girlie stuff to Bobby's bathroom.And his shower doesn't work. Not that he uses it as he doesn't bathe. So till I can afford a plumber, it's bathtub baths & washing my hair in the kitchen sink.
I had another bday this week,was thankful to see another one.Only thing, I had to go shovel ice off my back porch myself as my son was too lazy.The well froze,so I shoveled ice to melt to flush toliets.So this has been a crazy week. Yet, this country gal can surrvive,Sometimes, I wish I was by myself. Get tired of cleaning up after a grown son,lol.Enough from me.Hope everyone has a blessed day!
Morning folks, I don't remember the last time I posted. Gina has been having major health problems.Between her back spasms & her ulcer,she keeps me running the roads taking her to the er.
My soap business is doing good. I went to a holiday craft sale @ a local church.Did well there.Got plenty of orders for christmas.So I've made alot of soaps. Now,I have to deliver orders by this weekend.Will, just sell what I have in stock, then make more after the holidays. There is a big festival in march,so will get a spot & sell.
Goats survived our cold snap. It got down to 11 degrees.I had to carry 5 gallon buckets of hot water to thaw their water containters out.Bah humbug,lol.I have a baby pgymy & she's doing good in this cold.This southern gal doesn't like it when it's that cold.
Today I'm making my cookies, so after I feed, I'll be warm rest of day.

Been awhile since I posted.Bud&Gina arrived home safely.Stayed with me for 3 weeks.They found them a trailer about 4 miles from me.So they are settling in, Bud got his old job back.Is at his old job, such a long commute to his work. Gina has health problems, ulcer & a bad knee. I've taken her to the ER twice myself.Hope those Dr.'s can fix it. It wears me out. I'm having health problems now, so tired all the time. Waiting on test results.
Haven't had help with my garden,weeds are bad.Have been putting maters up.Picked zucchini & bell peppers yesterday.Gave zucchina to Gina, she makes good bread with it.
Goats are fine, been to hot for Rascal to breed, now that's hot folks,lol. Have foxes getting my laying hens, down to 5 layers from 15. Lost my silkies to foxes.
My air went out doing the big heat wave, the repairman goes to my church, he replaced the fan motor with an used one, no charge.God Bless Larry. I lost 4 lbs. that week.Don't recommend that weight loss program!lol.
Getting closer to starting my milk goat soap business going.Bud&Gina is buying a milker friday.She'll go in the pasture with the pasture with the kids I bottlefed. Zesu will be old enough to breed soon & he'll like that. I'll milk new girl once a day.Hope the milk will help Gina's ulcer.It will help my diabetis.Selling off some of Rascals women & he won't like that. Boy has his own Harem as it is,lol.
My butterfly garden is blooming good.Lost a purple phlox to the heat.I like watching the different butterflies visit.

My "kids" are in Al.. will be here today. I can't wait! I'll get a pgymy goat pen built finally. We need to weed the veggie garden too.Everything is starting to bloom, mater plants are loaded!
Thanks to Yard Granny, I have bee balm blooming.With all this rain we've been getting, everything is growing.My yard looks like a jungle with the grass so high.Have a hen come off her nest with 9 bitties. More layers & roo's for the freezer.Everyone else is doing fine.

Monday,I was feeding my herd.Got to close to nannies fighting over food.Got kicked on my ankle.It sprained my foot,put a cut above my ankle bone.So I'm wearing a brace, wondering how goat meat taste?,lol.Just kidding, I can't eat one of my babies.
Been keeping herb garden weeded&watered, new flower bed.Got to weed veggie garden this sat.& help son build milk goat pasture.
Trying to clean house good as my oldest son& wife will move home in two weeks from Az.They will stay with us till they get their place.My dau.inlaw & I will get our goat milk soap business started.I have one nannie who will be a good milker.She's pg.so the guys have got to build me a milk stand soon.
Finally got my camera back from Gary,I posted Swan Lake pics on my page.There's one group pic, rest is lake.It's beautiful.One of these days, I'll learn how to post a pic to my blog.

ay is our Senior luncheon.We're having a local BBQ place cather for us, yummy.Then we don't meet again till August.I'll get a plate for my son & won't have to cook tonite.Yeah!

I started my feeding rounds yesterday.And water stopped running.It isn't a clog filter.So now I got to call my church's office, see if they have someone who can come out& look.They have a group of men who repair for widow's.I dodn't have money for a well repair. So it's buckets of water to be hauled to these animals.Goats will take 10 gal. for sure.My truck is full of buckets of water I went & got from a neighbor.
Have my plants sitting in a pan of water,will plant them soon as I get off the phone with the office.
Thanks for the advice about the little girl & my butterflies.One of the bushes I ordered is a sweet Vanilla Butterfly flower.Anyone have it?Looks so pretty in the catalog.Well, got to run, my bottle babies are calling me.Ya'll have a blessed day.Will post later about my well.Di.
I ordered new flowers for my butterfly garden.Michgan Bulb had them here in time for mothers day, but the mail carrier won't come down my driveway.So that means a special trip into town.NA post office bites! Then I'm going to plant my plants.Finish my memoriol garden.this morn.Got a problem, I need advice. I'm doing this garden to attract butterfly for my retreat place.My friend grand daughter likes to catch & kill butterflies.I need a firm remark for them without getting into a fight,lol. This 7yr. childs mother lost custody to my friend, for drug abuse, mother thinks it's cool.I don't want ot offend my friend but I won't allow another one to be killed.I've spent a small fortune on plants to finish this garden.I feel close to my grandkids in heaven when I sit with the butterflys.
Hope all mom's had a great day, I was sick with that stomach virus all weekend.So was my son, so we didn't go out to eat.I got a blackberry bush from my grands with berries on it.My dau. Criss, gave me a petunia in her dau.favorite colors.It was a sad day for her as all her children are in heaven.
My goat Gina had her baby yesterday, pretty baby.Named after my dauinlaw,born on Gina's bday.My son thinks it's funny for me to name a goat after her.She loves. it.

My Senior group from church went to Swan Lake & Irires garden at Sumpter. It was beautiful! There's a choc. garden there, flowers are choc. color. I let the driver use my camera as he forgot his.He's our music min. & was taking pics for senior day sunday.Don't know if he took a pic of choc. garden. The bearded Irises wasn't blooming as well as the Jap. ones.So mon. I'll have pics. Gary was the only man with 8 senior ladies to keep up with.He learned about using goat pooties in a flower garden,lol. One member came over & got 2 bucket full for her flowers.Brought her 3 grands over kids had a ball.They got to see a little banty hen with her 4 babies that are 2 days old. Fed the goats bread, talked to GobbleGoggle.That tom is a trip, he gobbles for kids.Got to see silkies chicks with their mama's.
Elaine loved mama's yellow bush in full bloom,thanks to goat pooties.My butterfly garden is starting to bloom.Got lots of ideas to extend it.Means digging up more bermuda grass.Can't give aeay anymore creeping jenny, so digging day planned for next week.

Sam is doing fine.Thanks for the well wishes.Now they have a new sister, Selina, a rescued chi from the lb.And I have a new bottle baby, TBone a bullcalf.He will be raised for the freezer.We got some much needed rain.Today I'm playing in my garden.Catching my wash up.Had a busy week last week. Hopefully no more vet trips.Will take Selina for a well check plus Buffy for shots friday.
Thurs.my senior group is going to the Irises garden in Sumpter.Can't wait to see their flowers again & the Swans.I love swans.Taking bread so I can feed them.

Had to take my dog Samantha to the vet.She was passing blood in her diarrhea.Found out she dug up a dead chicken & ate it. Scared us as I didn't know what the chicken died from. The bones scratched her insides. After meds. & a talk from her vet, he told her leave dead chickens along.And let mama trap that bobcat who's hanging close by, she's fine now.I had burried the chicken, put a blueberry bush on top.Turn out to be expensive fertilzer,lol.
I'm digging up plants I can share with my neighbor & planting my new plants.Giving her more creeping periwinkle, catmint, & pholox so far.Haven't put a dent in that creeping periwinkle. I can't find anyone else to give it too.So looks like the burning pile for what's in my way.My lavander is starting to bloom, so pretty.
Weatherman is calling for rain, hope so as it's getting dusty here.Everyone have a blessed day!
Sat. was the Seniors plant swap @ my church.I brought home lemon mint,sweet shurb bush, gardenia bush, day lilies, blue irises,jonquills, plus got plants for a neighbor who was working.I gave away creeping periwinkle, seeds, datura seeds, bridal veil,bradford pear saplings,can't remember the rest.It was fun,I couldn't "shop" as much as I wanted, trying to explain the differance between angel trumpet & datura.Some people are so set in their ways,lol.
I've been comforting a friend at church, her dog was in the Er.Vet.The problem is, her only child is dead,husband is dead.She's from Greece,has no family here.The dog is her whole world. Dog is home recovering & after crying on my shoulder, Althea, is fine. She says only you will understand.And I do. So I made a close friend & helped her. I'm bringing her out here & let her feed my kids.She remembers herds of goats in Greece. Told her,I have a small herd now.I was blessed & I know she was.Enjoy your day, hope you can get out in the dirt, I am.Blessings!

I sold two little girls to my Vet's wife.So they will have a wonderful home. Friday I'm picking up a pair of babies who have to be bottle fed.These are milk goats.And will build a pasture for them to go in when they are wean.Will put my milk goat who's pg in there & start milking her to make the soap. Rascal won't like that,lol.
It's offical, I've become the crazy goat lady!,lol.
Today the plan is to weed more in my garden.Then got to clean my nursery pen out to make room for new ones.
