Why do I get these brilliant last minute ideas?  I've got three pretty wire frames that I normally take to the garden shop and have planted by the pros.  Did I do that this year?  No.  I decided that I would do it really simply - no fuss - no muss - I'd just plant white petunias in spahgnum moss and they would look simple and lovely.

So, after three trips to three separate nurseries i found a bag of moss and the petunias I wanted and a bag of Miracle grow soil.

I dragged all the things I would need to plant the three baskets down from my third floor apartment to the garden outside.  I planted one basket, adding some lobelia and impatiens to the sides of the moss.  By the time I'd finished one basket I was out of planting mix and moss.

I can't believe how heavy that basket was to haul back up to the third floor!

Back to the nursery, two more bags of moss @ $10.00 each and yet another bigger bag of potting soil and back home.

I finally finished the three baskets and hung them up.

Next year I go back to the garden shop!  Let them do the work and deliver the baskets!  That was a BIG Job and a very very messy one!
