Removed Daylilies

I removed the rust red daylilies growing on the northside berm because our previous attempts at weeding out the grass proved unsuccessful.  Sigh.  Besides the birch has grown so big that they didn't get enough sun anymore. 

Here's how they looked in 2008

In summer 2011, daylilies didn't get enough sun to do well.

I'm not posting a pic of how it looks now -- it's just a bit disheartening.  Not sure what I will plant there once we've eradicated the grass.
