This was my first weekend in the garden in months! I finally felt well enough to do some planting. I planted a ring of Sky Blue lobelia around the berm and a few rosemary seedlings near the stone retaining walls. (The large rosemaries I planted last summer did not survive our unusually cold winter.) I bought several shrubs but did not have the time to plant them.
We got a new roof in dark gray, and they installed a skylight above the kitchen. When the remodel contractor comes in, he'll open the ceiling up to it. There's a relatively large room at the other end of the house which was Mom's sitting room. It's going to be our media room, but we will use it as the living room until the remodel is done. I'm going to go crazy with murals that will depict the garden from a faerie's perspective. One end of the room will be like sunrise, and the other end (where the big flat screen TV goes) will be like night. Paul has already painted that end of the room black. This week we're moving everything out of the living room into the future media room so that Paul can scrape the popcorn off that ceiling.
