Thuja Green Giant Mystery
Jul 7, 2008 | 12:10 PM PST
I recently planted a stand of 15 Thuja Green Giants. One plant (number 8 in the stand) suddenly turned completely brown (after 5 weeks) and I replaced it with another one right away. The replacement also turned brown and died right away. All of the other plants around this one spot are doing great after being in the ground for 8 weeks. Could there be something in the ground that is killing these plants? Should I remove some of the dirt in this hole and replace it? It is interesting that the first plant did quite well for about 5 weeks. Does anyone have any idea of what could have happened and what I can do before trying to plant another one?
