Well I am very sad today we had to cut down a tree the ice storm from last year took it's toll on it. It is the tree where the oriols made there nest every year. I sure hope they pick another one of are trees to nest this year. Did I mention that I  really really hated cutting it down. As you can tell I hate it. I have lived here for 15 years and the tree was here when we bought the place and it was big then,OH and it was my shade for my bedroom I just hope one of the other tree's will branch out now and give us shade again. I will try to take a pic. of the greenhouse and post it on here also, When I went to check on the plants in it today I have three yellow tomatoe plants coming up so that is good. Well so sad over the tree,but everything happens for a reason just hope it is a good one.

Well I bought a green house but I am not really sure when you are supposed to start the plants in it. It is still getting down in the 30 at night. But they are saying this week it is going to be in the high 70 and low 50  so I think this will be ok. I don't have a heater in it. I know when it is 60 out side it is 100 in it but it drops down at night. I have a little green house in the house and I start plants in it and they do good but again it is in the house. any help would be good.

well I have a question, is it lack of light or heat that makes the plants grow tall and lankey? My husband decide to start cucumbers inside this year, I always just put the seed in the ground when it warms up. Well they are tall and lankey lol. I usualy do good at this stuff.

I seen this bright yellow glow in the sky this weekend had to break out the sun glasses can someone tell me what that was lol. Oh what a wonderfull weekend got up early so I could enjoy the day, went out and gave the birds lots of food, cleaned out the fish pond and of course had to clean the filters which is no big deal,man I don't know how they stand that cold water. oooooo found another little frog in the pond he is so cute. The house work had to wait untill the sun went down just couldn't make myself go in. Well my daughter has moved back in,which is fine with me,her room mate texted her of all things to tell her that she was moving out the first of the month. I was like wow can't even tell you face to face. She hadn't signed up on the lease so that was good for her.(my daughter) I told her she just needs to stay here and save some money untill she can find a place that she can pay for on her own, and if she wants a roomie than that is good too. But she don't have to worry about them moving out on her and leaving her high and dry again. Hope we have more days like this weekend soon,but like everyone else seems like we have more snow coming in wed. But I am going to try to hold on to the memory of this weekend. OH and some of my plants are coming up I planted yaaaaa. Sorry about the bla bla bla I guess it is where I drove 8and 1/2 hours today getting slap happy. Night all

Well we got the seeds started,we done red and yellow tomatoes,peppers,impations,sna
p dragons,desert rose,cabage,geraniums and more to do tomorrow. Can't wait to see there little heads pop up. It made me feel better to get them started. Starting another flower bed in my head. Watching the weather they are saying 36 for tomorrow 39 sat and 38 sun. so it is getting a littile better.LOL so bad when you think yaaa 39 boy that is going to feel good. Guess I better go to bed. Happy gardening everyone!!!

Well got threw another cold day, roads were much better today. They were calling for more snow this weekend,but now they are saying good chance of rain instead yaaaa. Neighbor hollard at me tonight wanted to know how we were surving the winter . Of course she is like the rest of us sick of it, said she was getting cabin fever bad this year. Told here i am there with her. I filled up all 4 bird feeders again today boy they are cleaning them out quick. But that is ok I love to watch them, finches ,woodpeckers and chick-a-dees ,red birds and blue Jays . seem to have a lot more birds in my yard this year. Or maybe I am the only one getting out in the cold to fill the feeders right now. eather way I just love them. Hope all is well. going to go do my spring dance before I go to bed lol. I stoped doing the snow dance.

Oh how I want to go outside and dig in the dirt, guess I will have to settle for starting my seeds, that will make it a little better. I just love to watch there little heads pop up, then I know it won't be long before I am back in the yard. I got some Larkspur's I have never tried them before and someApricot Twist Sumflowers,Citrus Sunflower's,snap dragon's, popy's,Aster.s and some Kaleidoscope mix Four O Clocks they are very pretty. I wonder if the Citrus Sunflower's will help keep the mosquitoes away? That would be nice.  Well the weekend is allmost over, back to the driving again Cincinnati and back everyday. oooooooo how I hate to think about that, I feel like I am there more then here. But I am luck I have a job to hate lol. Guess I better decide what we are having for supper. Hope everyone is doing well.

Well we got up to 7 inches of  snow today. Got to shovel off the drive and side walks of course. Went to my neighboros and did her drive too. She is a sweet lady( Mrs. Jenny ) Her husband has only one leg. She came out when we were almost done trying to pay us. I told her no thank  you , that is what neighbors are for. They didn't do to good of a job on the roads today, don't know if it is because if is sat. or what. Me and my son had a snow ball fight ,well he was throwing the snow balls I was throwing shovles full lol. He was covered in snow when I got done. He is 20 by the way. Still loves to play with mom. I will post pic of the snow on my photos, not sure how to add them to the blogs yet.

 December 8 - 6:00 PM 
It started to snow. The first snow of the season and the wife and I took our cocktails and sat for hours by the window watching the huge soft flakes drift down from heaven. It looked like a Grandma Moses Print. So romantic we felt like newlyweds again. I love snow!
December 9
We woke to a beautiful blanket of crystal white snow covering every inch of the landscape. What a fantastic sight! Can there be a more lovely place in the whole world? Moving here was the best idea I've ever had! Shovelled for the first time in years and felt like a boy again. I did both our driveway and the sidewalks. This afternoon the snowplough came along and covered up the sidewalks and closed in the driveway, so I got to shovel again. What a perfect life!

December 12
The sun has melted all our lovely snow.. Such a disappointment! My neighbour tells me not to worry- we'll definitely have a white Christmas. No snow on Christmas would be awful! Bob says we'll have so much snow by the end of winter, that I'll never want to see snow again. I don't think that's possible. Bob is such a nice man, I'm glad he's our neighbour.

December 14 
Snow, lovely snow! 8 inches last night. The temperature dropped to -20. The cold makes everything sparkle so. The wind took my breath away, but I warmed up by shovelling the driveway and sidewalks. This is the life! The snowplough came back this afternoon and buried everything again. I didn't realize I would have to do quite this much shovelling, but I'll certainly get back in shape this way. I wish I wouldn't huff and puff so.
 
December 15
20 inches forecast. Sold my van and bought a 4x4 Blazer. Bought snow tires for the wife's car and 2 extra shovels. Stocked the freezer. The wife wants a wood stove in case the electricity goes out. I think that's silly. We aren't in Alaska , after all.
December 16
Ice storm this morning. Fell on my #@!$ on the ice in the driveway putting down salt. Hurt like hell. The wife laughed for an hour, which I think was very cruel.

December 17
Still way below freezing. Roads are too icy to go anywhere. Electricity was off for 5 hours. I had to pile the blankets on to stay warm. Nothing to do but stare at the wife and try not to irritate her. Guess I should've bought a wood stove, but won't admit it to her. God I hate it when she's right. I can't believe I'm freezing to death in my own living room.
December 20
Electricity's back on, but had another 14 inches of the damn stuff last night. More shovelling! Took all day. The dam snowplough came by twice. Tried to find a neighbour kid to shovel, but they said they're too busy playing hockey. I think they're lying. Called the only hardware store around to see about buying a snow blower and they're out. Might have another shipment in March. I think they're lying. Bob says I have to shovel or the city will have it done and bill me. I think he's lying.
 
December 22
Bob was right about a white Christmas because 13 more inches of the white crap fell today, and it's so cold, it probably won't melt till August. Took me 45 minutes to get all dressed up to go out to shovel and then I had to pee. By the time I got undressed, peed and dressed again, I was too tired to shovel. Tried to hire Bob who has a plough on his truck for the rest of the winter, but he says he's too busy. I think the butthole is lying.
 
December 23
Only 2 inches of snow today. And it warmed up to 0. The wife wanted me to decorate the front of the house this morning. What is she, nuts?!! Why didn't she tell me to do that a month ago? She says she did but I think she's lying.
December 24
6 inches - Snow packed so hard by snowplough, I broke the shovel. Thought I was having a heart attack. If I ever catch the son of a #@!$ who drives that snow plough, I'll drag him through the snow by his balls and beat him to death with my broken shovel. I know he hides around the corner and waits for me to finish shovelling and then he comes down the street at a 100 miles an hour and throws snow all over where I've just been! Tonight the wife wanted me to sing Christmas carols with her and open our presents, but I was too busy watching for the damn snowplough.

December 25
Merry Merry Christmas! 20 more inches of the damn slop tonight - Snowed in. The idea of shovelling makes my blood boil. God, I hate the snow! Then the snowplough driver came by asking for a donation and I hit him over the head with my shovel. The wife says I have a bad attitude. I think she's a fricking idiot. If I have to watch "It's A Wonderful Life" one more time, I'm going to stuff her into the microwave.
 
December 26
Still snowed in. Why the hell did I ever move here? It was all HER idea. She's really getting on my nerves.
December 27
Temperature dropped to -30 and the pipes froze; plumber came after 14 hours of waiting for him, he only charged me $1,400 to replace all my pipes.
 
December 28
Warmed up to above -20. Still snowed in. My WIFE is driving me crazy!!!

December 29
10 more inches. Bob says I have to shovel the roof or it could cave in. That's the silliest thing I ever heard. How dumb does he think I am?
 
December 30
Roof caved in. I beat up the snow plough driver, and now he is suing me for a million dollars, not only the beating I gave him, but also for trying to shove the broken snow shovel up his BUTT. The wife went home to her mother. Nine more inches predicted.
 
December 31
I set fire to what's left of the house. No more shovelling.
 
January 6
Feel so good. I just love those little white pills they keep giving me. Why am I tied to the bed?

Well this just can't be good I have flowers coming up. Went to check the mail Sat. and there are tulips coming up there. And there are Dafadills in the flower bed also. But no sign of snow crockes.  I want spring to be here and I guess the flowers do too lol. Oh yes and the trees are budding. I added new pictures of my findings.

Well I went plant shoping this weekend. I got some plants for the pond. It looks pretty good. Went and picked up mom , she is wanting a water feature now lol. I guess I will have to see what I can do.The veggie garden is doing pretty good can't wait to eat some fresh veggies. We have some little tomatoes. I will post what pic I have of the pond. hope everyone is doing good happy gardening

well everyone take a look and tell me what you think. I think it turned out pretty good, now we just have to wait for the plants to come up. Oh I laughed so hard when we got threw that night it was to dark for me to take a pic. so when i got up the next morning I went to take the pic. the pond was pink and I mean pink pink it was so funny, the rain had made the dye come off the mulch  and it turned the water pink .I am so glad we didn't have fish in it yet lol. If I can get the pic. off my cell phone I will post it. But as you can see it is ok now.

Well it has rained all weekend. But that didn't stop us we went and gathered rock for the new pond,and got mulch. We were both dripping wet and cold. But we got the rock in and the mulch down. I will take pic tomorrow. Still need to get the plants in the ground. We are pretty happy with it so far . I sure hope everyone else had a good weekend.
