My only complain is the WIND!! It never stops blowing here. I had a hard time digging flowerbeds in the wind and trying to break up clods of dirt and having it blow back in my face...ugh! I have a new great friends in this area who have me lots of new plants to try out..what a great group!! There is a website, GardeningClub, you join pay 12.00 year for a free monthly catolog, a membership card and access to many great bargains and "try it out" marketing. On the site is a bullentin board of interests and states. I joined the Oklahoma state and found a really nice bunch that meet twice a year and stay friends and such the rest of the year. There are states for all the US. I have learned so much from them all.
I also learn alot by just searching online and reading posts and blogs. Some folks here have such beautiful yards that I just can't believe it!!
I hope to have my yard here and beautiful as the one I left behind in Texas......

Ok, I know we have needed a good rain for the past two summer, but....the sky has opened and boy has the rain came down in Central Texas. Our lakes are about as full and they can get, the local dam has opened it's flood gates for two days now, folks in Marble Falls, right up the road from me, has lost their homes and business! It's a really strange thing to see after the drought! Road are still closed and the rain is still falling in some parts with more to come. My garden looks great now, but too much more rain and I am not sure if it will survive. My large, I mean large, rain barrel is almost full, figured it would take months of rain. My yard is soggy and smelly. So, if the sun does come out, we will have a giant "heat" lamp in a bath house type effect...HUMID!! Hopefully everyone will Survive!! JT

Just because I live in a busy neighborhood doesn't mean "critters" can't find your garden. I had a beautiful crop of Sweet corn before 'it" go into my garden and dug up half the corn. I am not sure if it's a racoon or possum, but I worked hard the other night and built a fence around it....right after the big rain...so I did the slip and slide all over the place trying to get the fence up...hubby was laughing and was attempting to help, but couldn't quit laughing. Anyway, it's up now and the mr critter can't get in. I also got my three new roses from SpringHill, what a great bargin, three hybrid tea roses for the price of 1 1/2 in the local garden centers!!! I am was so excited, that i put them in the ground Friday after work. One is White, Robert Kennedy, a lavender and a new one that's red and yellowish colored stripped. I am very excited to see what they product!! I have added butterfly bush and flowers, and a few others. In the next few weeks, I look forward to the blooming of these plants!! If any of you live close to Cedar Park, Tx, get me a fast note and we can go "Garden Center" hunting...Happy planting....Jacque
