Where did this year go? Holy Cow! And where the heck have I been since June? One four letter word – WORK. In this economy I guess that is a good thing really. Our company is doing well, lots of new clients and plenty to do. So I am not complaining, honest.
Been reading up on everyone’s blogs. I’ve missed you all!! No more excuses the cold has driven me in the house so I can catch up with everyone again. Let’s see what’s been up? Pond is still not fixed and the thought of filling it in and planting it up is becoming a better idea every day. We got the retaining wall completed in the backyard. Now our deck won’t be falling down the hill into the lake. That’s a good thing. Put the veggie garden to sleep for the winter last month. Dug out my compost pile and gave everything a heap of it just before fall hit. Was so tickled with all the black gold my pile had made. Now I have a new heap cooking away for spring.
Brought my herbs in off the deck just before the first freeze we had. I need to find another window for them they are not getting enough light in the dining room. Hubby and Son spent four hours last weekend blowing and raking oak leaves. We actually do have a yard and flower beds! Hadn’t seen them in weeks so I wasn’t sure they were still there.
California kids are coming for Thanksgiving. They should arrive sometime on Saturday morning. Can’t wait! I have the whole week off and looking forward to just cuttin’ up with my kids. They want to do some fishing while they are here. We will head to the tail waters Monday for the day and get the fly rods wet and hopeful have a few keepers for dinner. With 6 of us fishing we should do well. I am looking forward to a house full on Thursday. What fun! Nothing better than your kids under your roof, friends by your fire, tons of good food and lot’s of laughter! It doesn’t get any better than that.
