It's absolutely georgous outside today and Mr. Man is finally building the swing holder we ripped down better than a year ago. I am almost excited! We have agreed that I will plant grapes on both sides so that something productive is achieved...now how do we keep the bees away when we want to swing? Hmmmmmmm...any suggestions? One of the many things to ponder...
I started slips of hydrangea and white grapes, also butterfly bushes. I have never been successful with this before and I have actully done some good this time around...it is almost scarry! I was doing the happy dance all arond and Mr. Man is just shaking his head!(Fat girls and happy dances can be funny AND dangerous!).
I sat on the ground to play with my two bulldogs and I laid in the sun with one and the other was jealous and he came over and I ended up laying on him. Mr. Man got a picture because he said we were lazy and wanted to prove that he was working and we were not...well...he only works when he feels like it...we work when we don't want to!! So we had a good day...I found my Sieberian Iris' coming up...they are just tiny little things! I was tickled to see them...My daughter begged me for them but I told her she would have to wait...then she wanted to know why she did not inherit my green thumb...I told her it takes time and if she really wants to grow nice things then she will take the time, if not she may never grow anything but pots of dirt...she just looked at me...I love her, she is very brainy...but common sense is NOT on her side! Sometimes I want to mimic the V-8 commericial and bop her on the forehead and say,"you should have had a V-8"! I have posted new pictures in my photo album and am excited for another day off! I think of all my new garden friends when I garden, I believe I will have a Kratz garden this year with all the new goodies I got from Charlotte! There goes more grass!!!! HIP HIP HORAY! Happy Easter Everyone!

Spent all of yesterday in the anti-grass mode! I sure love getting rid of it! I secretly laugh when people ask me what they can do to help their grass...(pull it up!). I have had this idea that I wanted to do an American Flag flowerbed...and have actually tilled up a piece of ground between my two cherry trees. I am not sure what I want to use in it...red' white and blue of course, but the first year I do something is usually trial and error...and even if it is error I usually still like it! And learning of course is half the fun! Yesterday was my frst day off since my last post, and I did alot. I even found some dafadills that I had havested last fall...in a white garbage under the fall leaves and had forgotten about...they were actually beautiful! So I am hoping that now that they are in the ground I will see a bloom or two...just for entertainment of course!
On my job we have wonderful flower beds and I do play in them from time to time when the boss is not there...I am learning about herbs more, I did not realize that Rosemary blooms...it is absolutely georgous! I ran home to see my herb was blooming too! How did I not know that??? Teehe! I even thinned out some of the yellow lilies that are so popular to business flower beds and had a few to throw in my gardens...Of course they do pay people to do this...but I am better at it!
I got some awesome peonies from a friend and am hoping that they do well...I dug them in the rain and planted them in the rain...who says you cannot work in the rain? :)
My flats of seeds I ahve planted are doing nothing. I took them out in the rain and let them get good and soaked...as the daily misting did not seem to be doing anygood...I haven't started singing to them yet!
I did change the oil in my car yesterday, and my son-in-law's truck and my daughters Rodeo...I ran out of cars to do...and still wanted to do more...weird ole woman! More later, gotta get ready for work...must make that american dollar...gives me an idea for another flowerbed!

I was off today for the first time in weeks and I was on my knees all day loving the mother earth and thanking God for all that I have...and all that I DON'T have! Yes it is good to be thankful for those things we do not have! I planted several Boxwood type bushes. I am not a big fan of Boxwoods, but this particular bush reminds me of my childhood with my Step father who I love and miss terribly. He is still alive but his new wife does not like that I am past history...she will feel the full circle. I also planted lots of day lilies today and also Siberian Iris...not sure what they look like but I am excited to see free! I do not spend alot of money but I do have a boldness about me that makes me walk up and knock on doors and ask if they'd like to do a plant swap! I offer to thin their plants in exchange for some of the plants...most of the time they are very agreeable...when they are not I make 'em feel like meanies! I love what we have for beauty and God gave these to us to love, nurture and enjoy...not to mention share! I am ready for a rest, back is whinning just a bit! Oh, I also started some seeds...Canteberry Bells ( I ahve never had any luck with these but I keep trying!) Snapdragons, Cherry tomatoes, Pansies, and a freebie that a fellow gardener sent me. So we will see what happens! I can hardly wait! Deesi
