Boy was it hot today...107, but we've had cool days too..wanted to share a little helper I found on my potted mum...and no this shot is 'not' upside down (^_^)
Don't know about you, but we're looking forward to a nice quiet weekend, lol.
This morning I cut back all the Beebalm and will let it dry for some autumn decor for our outdoor window shelves, also after Rick amended the last of the 'transformer' bed, I planted a ground cover called Helianthemum x nummularium 'Ben Nevis', it has the cheeriest little flowers and loves the sun and is drought tolerant. Then I took out the Shasta Daisies and put in another Agastache. The Daisies are now in a big pot and in our little secret plant area. Actually, I planted a second Agastache in the backyard too...I have one more to plant!
Last Saturday our herbal farm had a 40% off sale on all their plants..I bought a few for my sis in law and I got 3 agastaches, a ferny lavender and 3 of those ground covers.
Our Print Shop software came in this week and I've been learning how this one works...so here are two images
First My Pink Lady and White Crinum, the Crinum is in a pot and the Lady in ground. The Crinum came from the Luther Burbank Gardens and a niece shared her Ladies with me.
This is an update shot of one of our new front beds (on the left)...the moss rose is beginning to fill it out, maybe next year the tuberose will bloom.
What a weekend...actually longer than that....first, last Thursday Aurora's guy (David) had his 4Runner stolen while at work..he works nights...then there was some family drama in my sis in law's household 'while' she was visiting us...then...the 4Runner was found but Aurora's truck got impounded!!..so that cost them a lot of $$$$!!!! All in all, it was a wonderful visit and all ended on a positive note...but WoW...lol
Did score on some great plants at our local herbal farm, all on sale...3 Agastaches, a new lemon 'ferny' lavender and a neat little ground cover with darling orange flowers for the new garden bed...we did have a few days of over 100 degree days..it's cooled off now and the family has returned home...it's nice our peace and quiet...sitting and enjoying our little yard... Rick will be kayaking tomorrow and I'll plant some of those agastaches tomorrow..
Meanwhile..here are some pics I took a few days ago...a contained Parrot Lily in flower...
and a little resident sunning herself on my gargoyle ...that B52's song comes to mind... 'What's that on your Head?' , lol

Greetings all!
Hope your weekend is off to a good start ....our heatwave ended Friday...but what a wind storm! Rick checked on the last Crape Myrtle and it was almost horizontal!! Happy to say this morning it was still standing! ...only one of the wooden post broke. We were so relived (^_^)
He is finally back to kayaking after finishing that root removal project....he brought back some wild black berries!! We made some awesome smoothies with them...just the thing for a warm day. He brought back a sprig wanting to know what it was...I thought maybe rose hips from a wild rose....I told him my G.G. pals would know for sure. So below are the berries and sprig....
Sorry...the spring came out too small, but looks better in my 'new camera' album....still figuring out the camera settings, lol
After many hours of cutting out tree roots manually without cutting the electrical wire...
replacing broken sprinkler pipes...
redoing the terrace blocks...then back filling and amending...

The last Crape Myrtle is in ground!! Rick is done for the rest of the
summer, after some well deserved rest he and Darwin will enjoy some
water time (^_~) Wishing you all very well
Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July...with family and friends, doing what makes you happy.
We finally got around to getting a new camera and learning what's the same and what's not, lol. I still have to get a new Print Shop program..but I'm enjoying learning what this little camera can do.
Here is another shot of our staked Beebalm..with a butterfly bell just over it. Luckily, I remembered to re-size it...the originals are larger (^_^)
