There was a pretty hard rain before we left, and then three days of nothing but sun......here's my own garden when we got home......lots more blooms than when we left:

My wife planned a surprise weekend for us in St Louis, and then she couldnt stand it, so I have known about it for a while now, and the time has come. Main reason for going is to visit the botanical garden, so I will probably post a few pics of that when I return. Hope you are all well and your gardens are coming along as you hoped. I should have new pics of my own garden up soon too as several Iris's have bloomed in the past day or so. ^v^
I had posted a quick blog this morning and then deleted it. It was about my dismay that a bird had pooped on my clematis. Well, then I took a quick tour of the yard, and saw that I could still get some good pics despite the bird with no morals. It may rain today, and I have the day off, so I had to take some pics and write this blog to get my garden fix for the day.
Here it is.... my last year clearance clematis.
And here are some other things that excite me as I walk around the garden.....
My herb gardens -- I have two, one with markers so I know what each thing is.
And here are my baby vinca sprouts..... This excites me because these are from my own seed gathered last year. No burpee dot com required.
Heres one of the waist high Peonys in the immediate back yard. My wife planted these before we met, so she is very proud of them....
I've got my eye on you......
And finally, here are the beautiful flowers that I got my wife for Nurses Day. I didnt get to see them before she got them as I ordered them over the phone. I was very pleased.
Well, today was the local Master Gardeners Sale that I have been waiting for for a few months. Now I will be waiting twelve more months for the next one. I bought lots of stuff, and could have bought lots more, but I had to control myself a bit. Perhaps the best "deal" were the tomato plants I got. I bought one plant each of four different varieties. They were $3 each, and about 18 inches high.
I also got some wave petunias that I put in containers outside the entrance to the garden.
A few peppers, a moonflower, two annual vines that flower like brown eyed susans, buttercups, some other thing that I cant remember right now.....
And here is the Dianthus that I got at Lowes yesterday for $2.50
Oh, and finally, a close up of the buds on my last years clearance clematis....I cant wait till this baby pops. More pics to come as things open up and grow. Thanx for looking. ^v^

The weather here has been very nice lately, so I have been outside every moment that I havent been working or sleeping. I try to get on once a day and read and respond to some blogs, but that doesnt always happen. This weekend there is a big area Master Gardeners sale that I am going to and I hope to have my garden 90% complete for the year as of this weekend. ( Its never complete is it??) What I mean is that I hope to have the rest of my veggies in, and I hope to have my living borders planted around my patio. I will definately try to get some pictures up by Sunday night if the weather is condusive to planting this weekend. Hope you are all doing well. ^v^
