also, just got some new chickens: a type of Bantum: Sorama from Malaysia. They are very cute, but not very social as they came from a big farm with a lot of chickens. They are Pullets so that also makes them skiddish I think.

Cant wait to work in my gardens and get away from the computer!

Because of the cold and snow outside here in wisconsin I have found something new to occupy my time while I wait for spring.. I have been hooked on watching this man in florida with his lions.

He is staying in a den with two lions until feb 1st, one is a one year old male and one is a two year old female. he has a live video on the area and feeds them at 4:00 central time.

He also takes care of about 100 other animals that he rescues and even gets companions for them so they do not have to be alone.  there is a blog and it is family centered with moderators...I dont know what I ll do with my free time in Feb!

,hope it warms up fast so I can start to work again in the garden and get myself unhooked from the computer lol!

dragon flies

wow there are dozens of dragonflies flying around in my yard whats that all about never seen anything like it.

also we had tons of rain and flooding recently and as I was driving saw a huge turtle a snapping turtle! looking like he wanted to cross the road.  I could not help him but someone stopped and with a bucket was able to.

also seeing more humming birds in my yard. I am always amazed at them when I see them

And I just had to share a garden center was sellling buy one get TWO FREE last day sale and I was on the way to a wedding so I couldn't stop - well my husband wouldn't stop... when does anyone ever see that ever!!!

birdbaths and the cold

I am diligently filling my bird feeders with seed because it is so cold here- 3degrees my truck said yesterday

anyway it makes me think do the birds really need water or do they eat snow for the water they need?

I was thinking of asking for a heated birdbath for christmas or if these are really necessary.  How would a bird in the wild get water otherwise?

just wondering..

Just getting ready for winter.  we just put up a bunk bed in my sons room we found on the internet.  I posted pictures its very sturdy and we really like it. (The dog is not so sure as he can't figure out how to get up there) Hopefully it will keep my son in his bed the whole night!  I posted a picture as well- we bought it from mcwoodworksinc.com . Nothing else is new.  waiting on spring  and flowers again...

I finally updated my original profile from 2 years ago- boy the time flies by!

I also added lots of pictures that were on my camera from like the past year.

Im sorry to say my gorgeous Angel the white cat in many of the photos ( the one obviously in love with the dog) has passed.  Also, my beautiful Gold chicken - Telula.  Its been sad for the kids and me.  Hopefully the next year will be better.

Hello

Ive been unable to log on as I forgot my password and was unable to reset as my email address had changed.

Its been about 6 months.  A lot  of  new photos I am eager to upload of my new pet chickens and new garden and of course always new kids photos.
